First of its kind

I decided to purchase this item despite lack of information online about this product. I figured it was going to be a surprise. As the previous poster has said, this is a nice add-on to your studies and daily organization. However, it definitely isn't a must and I had a hard time deciding if I would keep it because the product is not as polished as one would expect. However, I like that it's a unique product. There are no other planners out there for MCAT study planning, at least not one that I know of that could specifically apply to the new MCAT.

I like the cover design and texture. It is like a rubber-coated/matte feel. The downside is that it smudges and wears easily, although it looks and feels nice. The first content page you see is a letter from Amareen. She goes on for about 6-7 pages with all her study tips, some of which I will be trying. Others seem very extreme or specific to her program and supplements she sells. For example, I doubt I will be following the diet advice or advice about brain supplements as they require you to purchase very specific products. She recommends eating Oatfit every 1.5 hours, and it sounds like she is recommending Oatfit to be the primary part of your diet. This whole section could have been clearer and proofread more before printing. Also, the font seems to be point 8 or smaller, and I can't figure out a rationale for this since the 7th page is only about 4 lines long.

Next, you get to the "Overview of the Daily Plan". This is basically a two column chart that goes to day 365, with a few extra days to spare since the second column is blank on the last page. I doubt I will use this part much since there is nothing particularly appealing or organizational about the way it is laid out and there is not much space to write your plan that day (if you can summarize your plan in 1-2 words, 3 if you write small and the words aren't long, but they often tend to be in the sciences). You can just print out some free monthly calendars if you are really inclined to write out your plans for the next 365 days, but I would recommend just planning month by month :)

Then you get to the bulk of this planner, which are the daily sheets starting from 5am and ending at 4am. Flip this over and you will see the end of day review, where you can record hours studied, test percentages, stress, motivation, and distraction levels and a spot to write general notes and revisions to the plan. It's kind of a shame that these two pages aren't facing each other. I might just skip the first schedule sheet so that I can have the end of the day sheet on the left and use the facing schedule sheet (meant for the next day) on the right. I like the daily review sheets and there's a lot of them in there that they don't feel scarce, like informal worksheets you can freely write on should feel.

Amareen ends with 100 quotes for bad days. This leads me to another suggestion, which is a quote or tip every day. Because there is already one quote repeated everyday on the daily pages (which also seems to need copy editing). Along with this theme of repetition, the header of the book lets you fill in your test date and goal score, which is a nice touch, but I doubt I'll be filling that in 756 times on every page of the book!

All-in-all, 3.5 stars rounded to 4 based on conventions, and the fact I decided to keep it. I'm not sure the outcome would have been the same if I had purchased or found this elsewhere- there are just too many oddities in the layout as mentioned. Since things worked out like so, I do see myself making use of this book and it wearing out and becoming well-loved. It's a bit bulky being 700-800 pages, so it will likely stay in one designated spot as I believe it's designed. Good idea and a good first copy that could benefit from some revisions/improvements. I commend the effort to make something new that is not on the market yet and believe they will come out with many improved versions. I wanted to let other people interested in this know exactly what they are getting before purchase.

As someone who has a very busy schedule and a very organized personality, this planner was everything I could dream of and more! For all of you premed students, I know how tough and stressful life can be, so why not make it easier with this baby? The product is great, the service is great, and these guys really know how to make easier. Thank you so much Axilogy!
