Textbook

I bought this as a textbook for a class I was taking on school and community health. Some concepts in this textbook were difficult to understand after only having taken one introduction to health education class. However, the book cites plenty of resources and references. I have used other books by McKenzie and find him to be a great author.

Great introductory to Public Health

I'm using this book currently for a Public Health course. I love how it explains the history of the beginning of a certain health laws in the United States and what it has manifested to at the present. Love this book and would recommend it to anyone just starting off in the Public Health field.

If you don't know how to play these types of games, then the book is very good. However, if you know how to play GTA, you can pretty much figure out how to play RDR. This does not contain the walkthrough or mission information or any secret tips. You're better off going to [...] and just printing out what you want.

Smorgasbord of Bland Musical Morsels

I purchased this book for a college course I am enrolled in. I realize that it is not a typical text book however I still found it a bit lacking. The first chapter reads like it was written by an adolescent incessantly name-dropping for the sake of credibility. The structure of the writing doesn't lend itself to a better understanding of the subject. For example, the book mentions Tin Pan Alley without a point of reference. An explanation of piano barrel rolling or even a single sentence about Pinetop Perkins was completely missing. The book does pay homage to some of the unsung musicians such as Arthur Crudup.
Of course this is entirely my opinion, but some of the details which I thought were important were omitted from the book altogether. For example, in the chapter which talks about Carl Perkins, it doesn't mention that his brother died as a result of the car crash which had a profound impact on his career. In a later chapter, the book never comments on Janis Joplin's overdose before Pearl was released. The excerpt about Hendrix seems like the author didn't take the time to listen to the breadth of Hendrix music before summing it up as "militant". I realize that this was a small paperback and for the most part it did sum up the decades of rock music, but if you are interested in more than smorgasbord of bland musical morsels, look for another book.

Needed for school

As stated, I needed this book for a class I was in. While it arrived on perfect time and was in good condition, the content of the book is not exactly my favorite. It touched on only the biggest artists. I understand that music history is a crazy thing to go in depth, and it would take forever to discuss, but I still would have liked to see a bit more content.

Great content, but hard to preview on Kindle version

The content is great and well written with more questions from the prior edition, my only issue is the way to browse the kindle version of this book, you can't go from questions to answers directly, you basically have to go through the chapter if you want to return to where the question was located, I wish they would have linked each question and answer to each other so the browsing method would be much faster and more time efficient than the current way (Like McGraw-hill specialty board review in Anatomic pathology book). But the contents for studying is great, I recommend it as a paperback book rather than kindle edition

"Miss Julie," by August Strindberg, is a play with three speaking parts: Miss Julie, a nobleman's daughter; Jean, a young valet; and Christine, a cook in the household. The Dover Thrift Edition version is translated by Edwin Bjorkman. A brief introductory note states that the play first appeared as a printed text in 1888, a year before its first staging.
The play's title character is bold and flirtatious; her behavior, unsurprisingly, leads to controversy. "Miss Julie" is a fascinating glimpse at a society that is rigidly ordered around class stratification, gender roles, and sexual conduct; the play looks at the consequences when people resist this rigid order. The play has some really startling, thought-provoking dialogue.
Recommended companion texts: "Hands Around," by Arthur Schnitzler; "Daisy Miler," by Henry James; and "Cuckoos," by Giuseppe Manfridi. Each of these three literary works shares at least one significant theme or motif in common with "Miss Julie."

Realistic romance

The first time read this play was in summer school when I had to play a part of Julies role. After I got home read the whole play and in school I got the chance to participate a cource that followed the paractices of Miss Julie. August Strindberg was a weird or very unlucky man. Whole his life he looked for the woman of his life and everytime ended up with strong women that he end up hating. Strindberg was also a woman hater in allmost every meaning of the word. I think that he had fun while playing whith Julies life. The play is based on a true story. Jean is Strindberg, Julie is his 16 yrs old lover from his summer place and Kristen is Strindbergs wife Harriet. I like the play, but I can't help that Strindbergs life and ideas offected me very much. This play made me sick and charmed.
