The Best Book on the Topic!

This is an absolutely phenomenal book! I recommend it to all teenagers and young adults. It clears up many minconceptions about dating, marriage, and sex. It gives clear answers to questions about love and sex, contraception and pregnancy, AIDS STDs and "Safe Sex", sex and emotion, chastity sex and marriage, finding real love, healing the hurt, how far is too far?, etc. A wonderful book!

Whether you are a teen, adult, married or single, there is so much in this book for you.
Mary Beth Bonacci does a superb job answering questions regarding love, dating, flirting, living together, guilt, healing the hurt, forgiveness, sexual attractions, healthy relationships, holding out for the right person, knowing when you've met the right marriage partner, living the single life, fear of loving or being loved, staying married, and more. All topics are handeled in the context of authentic Catholic moral teaching.
Mary Beth explains the reason for her book by ending with Christ's words to his disciples, "You live in My love when you keep My Father's commandments and live in His love. I tell you this that My joy may be your joy, and that your joy may be complete" (Jn 15:9).
This book is so complete and valuable for anyone who wants to find true joy in their relationships and in life.

As a teenager growing up in the Catholic Church, I knew I wanted to save sex for marriage, but I didn't really have a good reason for doing so besides, "the church says so." Mary Beth Bonacci explains the excellent practice of Chastity in her book, telling all about how to live Chastity, what it is, and Why we should live Chastity. Not only that, but she also answers dating and marriage questions. This book helped me to find answers to so many of the questions I was asking, and helped me to realize there were some impure things in my life I needed to stop, or change. If you want to know why the Catholic Church says to save sex for marriage, and get some tips on living Chastity, READ THIS BOOK!

About the Author
Arthur and Ira Friedberg have been professional numismatists for over thirty years. Their firm, The Coin & Currency Institute, Inc. is a founding member of the elite International Association of Professional Numismatists. In June, 2001, Arthur Friedberg was elected President of the Association, the first American to hold the office. After he concluded his service as president, the IAPN gave him its highest honor, the title of Honorary President. He is also a life member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) and a member of the Professional Numismatists Guild. For the past forty years they co-authored revisions of Gold Coins of the World and Paper Money of the United States. They also wrote the new editions of Appraising and Selling Your Coins, which has more than a quarter of a million copies in print. Arthur is also the editor of Modern World Coins, a contributor to the Standard Catalog of World Coins and has written numerous articles for The Numismatist. Arthur Friedberg has been a consultant to the Money and Medal Programme of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, has testified as an expert on coin matters before the United States Senate Banking Committee and the Cultural Property Advisory Committee of the United States State Department. He has also been retained by advertising agencies, law firms, insurance companies and others to provide advice on coinage matters. In 1993 the Friedbergs were awarded the Prix d Honneur of the IAPN for Gold Coins of the World as the best book of the preceding year. They have also been presented the Medal of Merit of the (ANA for distinguished service to the hobby. Arthur has also received the first place Heath Literary Award for being the author of the article judged best in The Numismatist during 1993, the Swiss Vrenelli Prize for outstanding contributions to numismatics, and the American Numismatic ANA's Presidential Award.

Stay away from the CD version

When I ordered the CD version of the book I expected a high quality factory pressed, factory labeled and factory sealed product. I got instead a burned CD-R with a paper, ink-jet printed label sticker that doesn't even work on any of my DVD-CD units! So I ended up paying 75 dollars plus another 33 dollars customs tax (for Netherlands) for a complete piece of crap. While I am hoping to get my 75 dollars back from Amazon as I am returning the CD, the 33 dollars I paid for customs are gone, and so is my respect for those who marketed such a piece of crap!

I'll try to judge impartially

PRICES: Well updated. However the European ones seem slightly lower if compared to American coins prices. The pricing of coins in Very Fine condition would be quite desirable, at least for 19th century coins.
COMPLETENESS: absolutely enhanced, especially regarding the Asian countries, representing a very difficult area.
GRAPHICS : Excellent and exact.
CD QUALITY: Not impeccable: I had some difficulties, probably due to dust or travel problems.

Emocionante y perturbadora. A través de una excelente historia se logra comprender lo oscuro del ser humano y al mismo tiempo lo brillante de la psicología.

En una novela que uno no quiere terminar, John Katzenbach logra que el lector se emocione con el protagonista de la historia y su curiosa historia: un psiconalista acostumbrado a la monotonía, pero que en un día cualquiera, en una hora común y corriente, y en un consultorio absolutamente irrelevante su vida cambie, al recibir una amenaza de muerte muy particular.

Katzenbach logra que uno se estremezca, se estrese y se identifique. Además logra que uno ame a unos personajes y odie a otros, y al mismo tiempo hace que uno aprenda de la psicología y del comportamiento humano de una forma extraordinaria.

Posiblemente uno de los mejores libros que he leído.

The Bankhead family is one of the most interesting and influential families in American history. William Brockman Bankhead’s heritage was traced to sixteen family branches established by each of his individual great great-grandparents. Family connections to numerous events in American history and relationship to prominent individuals challenge the imagination. Family branches first had close connections to monarchs of England and Scotland. Here families lost sizeable estates during England’s Civil Wars and forced from their homes by Oliver Cromwell. Prominent colonial connections include marriages to relatives of Presidents Madison and Jefferson.

Throughout American history this family demonstrated valiant patriotism and military service. In South Carolina they were members of local militia units that achieved many Patriot victories culminating in British surrender at Yorktown. In Tennessee they joined militia units supporting Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812. William’s father was wounded while serving in the Civil War from 1861 through 1864. Another family branch serving in the South Carolina legislature opposed succession, even to the point of killing another man in a duel. This family would lose two sons to the war. William’s brother Henry served in the Spanish American War.
The Bankhead family settled in Northwest Alabama in the early 1830’s. They were major plantation owners and became Alabama’s most prominent political family. For fifty-nine consecutive years there was at least one Bankhead serving in the United States Congress. They were responsible for legislation that benefited the average American and left a lasting legacy on American history that we still enjoy.
The family established the first Department of History and Archives in this country. William played for the first Alabama football team and was the first team captain. William’s first marriage ended in tragedy with the death of his beautiful wife following childbirth. William had two daughters; Tallulah a famous actress and Eugenia a socialite. These girls led life styles outside the expected norm of their day.

Excellent! No BS advice

This book is an excellent manual on how to build a better body. While there maybe thousands of ways to skin a cat in terms of exercise programs if your looking to build muscle and loose fat Bigger Leaner Stronger has all the information you need.

Michael Matthew's gives a nice brief history about why you can't go by what the major muscle magazines advise and why not to follow the Mr. O pro's. The book is backed by plenty of studies proving many of Michael's points and backing his knowledge of bodybuilding and fitness.

I started following only a few of the principles he outlined in this book 3 weeks ago and I have already lost 4 pounds and my strength has gone up every week by at least 10 pounds an exercise consistently. This week I decided to adopt the entire weight regiment outlined in the book and I can't wait to see what kind of positive changes ensue. Excellent no nonsense information about building the body you want!!!!

Update, I am in my 5th week of doing the weight routines and eating methods and I have lost 11 pounds to date and my strength has sky rocketed. This book cuts through all the confusion of workout programs out there and gives you what works to build a great physique. If your like most people who don't want to hear the hype and just want to get to a sensible workout and nutrition program that works then this book is for you.

Some of the sections that explain exercise and terminology might be a bit basic for people who have experience with exercise but they are great reference sections. Great material and the workout routine is producing great results for me and I am working out in my basement with just free weights. I would probably be doing even better if I went to a gym!

Clear great fundamentals for my workout program. Best $10 ever spent. Also love Supple Leopard but I think that one cost me over $30. I have made great gains with the suggested 4-6 rep range instruction. Also great info about diet Thanks Mike Matthews

It may not be easy, but getting BLS is simple.

I rarely write reviews, but this is going to be a long one, because I think this book deserves it.

I work as a business consultant and university professor, which means I usually don't have time to hit the gym. My past few years have been fueled by pizza, McDonald's and all kinds of junk and/or unhealthy food. On top of that, I spent the last 6 years doing absolutely no physical exercises whatsoever. Then I hit 30, and decided to change this.

I went back to the gym and started spending 2 hours a day there. It was gruesome, boring and ultimately unsustainable, as I usually don't have 2 hours to spend.

So I scoured the internet looking for different ideas on how to train. I read a bunch of studies, a few blogs and books by fitness "gurus", and accidentally stumbled upon Mike Matthews' blog, Muscle for Life.

After reading a few of his articles, I decided to try his book, Bigger Leaner Stronger. At first glance, it seemed too good to be true, like he was trying to be the next fitness "guru" out there, providing simplistic guidelines to something that's usually presented as a much more complex endeavor. As a scientist, I noticed that his ideas were well researched and were supported by scientific literature... Still, it couldn't be that "easy".

But my 2 hour training routines were so boring that I decided to try Mike's plan. I have been following it almost to the letter. Except for cardio, which I don't have time to do and hate doing, and for the fact that I usually cheat on my diet more than I should, I have been following BLS for the past 3 months.

And I have to confess that it changed my life. I am visibly bigger, leaner and stronger. I have good genetics, meaning I don't put on a lot of fat even when I eat a lot. But since I've been doing nothing and eating junk for 6 years, I was at the 25% body fat range. So I started with a cut (as instructed by Mike) and I'm following it until I hit 10% B.F.

Mike's program is simple, but it's not easy. It's simple because, if you follow it properly, you really don't need to spend more than 45-60 minutes in the gym. It's not easy because you have to lift really heavy weights to see results. If you can do 7 reps with that weight, then you need to add more so you hit the 4-6 reps limit. And you have to keep pushing -- ideally, you have to add weight every week. This is not easy and not for everyone. But I love it.

Another thing is dieting. Despite what Mike says (that you don't need to stop eating what you like, and you don't need to starve), well... you do. I have changed the way I eat and, for the most part, eating is now something that I do because I have to, not something I do for pleasure. Come on, I used to eat pizza everyday, there's no way eating tuna with salad and a teaspoon of olive oil is going to be something that I love. But I got used to it, and now I do it almost everyday. Every now and then I cheat, but I'm keeping it under control. Also, Mike's advise on supplements is really, as he says, "no BS". I love it.

To follow BLS you have to be disciplined and you must trust the author. If you train, eat and rest as Mike advises, you'll notice visible changes in 1 month.

Within these 3 months, here is what happened: I have gained muscle (friends say "wow, you're getting big", shirts are getting tighter around the shoulder). I have lost 10 pounds (I was at 195 pounds, now I'm 185, pants are getting loose around the hips). I'm feeling better, more energetic and overall happier.

So I give this book 5 stars because I thank Mike Matthews for his work. I'm following his blog and I hope to be able to follow "Beyond BLS" soon. Thanks and congratulations, Mike. Keep up the good work.
